Global Symbol of Bangladesh Heritage
Deshojo Crafts is a technology-enabled marketplace and entrepreneurship ecosystem created to promote Made in Bangladesh products, heritage, culture, creativity, and local enterprise to the world.
As an initiative of Raindrops Tech Limited, Deshojo Crafts uses technology to connect Bangladeshi artisans, entrepreneurs, designers, technology professionals, and consumers, creating opportunities for local products and businesses to reach wider national and global markets.
Our core purpose is simple:
To take the products, stories, skills, and cultural heritage of Bangladesh from local communities to the global marketplace.
From Local Potential to Global Opportunity
Bangladesh has remarkable diversity in traditional products, craftsmanship, creative skills, and small and cottage industries spread across different regions of the country.
Yet many talented artisans and entrepreneurs face challenges in market access, branding, technology adoption, business development, and reaching customers beyond their local communities.
Deshojo Crafts was created to help bridge that gap.
Through its digital marketplace and supporting ecosystem, Deshojo Crafts creates opportunities for entrepreneurs and artisans to showcase their products, strengthen their businesses, develop relevant skills, adopt digital tools, and connect with broader markets.
Our role goes beyond putting products online.
We aim to support the people behind those products by creating an ecosystem where technology, entrepreneurship, creativity, design, skills, and market access work together.
A Marketplace for Made in Bangladesh
At the heart of Deshojo Crafts is the belief that Made in Bangladesh deserves a stronger presence in the global marketplace.
The platform provides a digital space where products from Bangladesh can be discovered, presented, promoted, and connected with potential customers beyond geographical boundaries.
Whether a product comes from a small entrepreneur, a family-based enterprise, a rural artisan, or a heritage-driven business, Deshojo Crafts seeks to create greater visibility and market opportunity while respecting the quality, originality, identity, and story behind each creation.
Growing Entrepreneurs & Supporting Artisans
Deshojo Crafts is not only about products—it is about people and their potential.
We support entrepreneurs and artisans through opportunities related to business development, digital transformation, skill development, branding, marketing, technology adoption, and market access.
By bringing together entrepreneurs, artisans, designers, and technology professionals, we aim to create meaningful collaboration and a stronger ecosystem for local enterprise.
Our goal is to help individuals move beyond simply producing a product—to develop sustainable businesses, build stronger brands, and compete in wider markets.
The Story Behind Deshojo Crafts
The story of Deshojo Crafts did not begin with the launch of a website or the creation of a brand.
Its roots go back to 2000, during the student life of its Founder, Nishat Mushfiqua.
It began with a simple love for crafts.
Driven by a deep fascination for the beauty, creativity, and diversity of Bangladeshi handicrafts, Nishat travelled whenever she had the opportunity. Her journey gradually took her beyond the cities and into different parts of Bangladesh, including remote communities where traditional crafts had been passed down from one generation to another.
She did not simply go there to see the products.
She listened to the people behind them.
She listened to artisans, weavers, and entrepreneurs—their journeys, struggles, dreams, and the challenges they faced in bringing their creations to wider markets.
Behind every handcrafted product and traditional creation, she discovered something much more valuable: a human story, a unique skill, and a piece of Bangladesh’s living heritage.
As an IT professional, Nishat began to see technology differently—not simply as a business tool, but as a bridge between local talent and global opportunity.
This thinking gradually led to the early concept of “IT for Crafts,” reflecting the idea of using information technology to support Bangladesh’s craft sector and create greater opportunities for artisans and craft-based entrepreneurs.
The vision continued to evolve through years of experience, engagement, and learning.
On 7 December 2020, Deshojo Crafts officially began its journey, carrying forward a vision that had started much earlier.
The launch was therefore not the beginning of the idea—it was the formal continuation of a journey that had begun two decades earlier.
Technology with a Purpose
As part of the broader technology ecosystem of Raindrops Tech Limited, Deshojo Crafts represents our belief that technology can do more than digitize products and businesses.
It can create access, open markets, connect people, develop skills, and preserve value for future generations.
We use technology to help bring together people who might otherwise remain disconnected: artisans and buyers, entrepreneurs and markets, creativity and technology, local businesses and global opportunities.
Taking Bangladesh to the World
Our ambition is bigger than creating an online marketplace.
We want to help build a future where Made in Bangladesh represents creativity, quality, authenticity, innovation, and heritage in the global market.
We want the skills of an artisan from a remote community to have the opportunity to reach a customer anywhere in the world.
We want entrepreneurs to have the knowledge, tools, and market access to grow beyond their local boundaries.
And we want Bangladesh’s rich cultural heritage to remain relevant—not only as something preserved from the past, but as something that continues to create economic opportunity, entrepreneurship, and global recognition.
Deshojo Crafts is our way of using technology to promote Bangladesh—its products, people, creativity, culture, and heritage—to the world.
Our Vision
To build a technology-enabled ecosystem where Made in Bangladesh products, entrepreneurs, artisans, creativity, and heritage can connect with the global marketplace, creating sustainable opportunities while keeping the identity and spirit of Bangladesh at the heart of the journey.
